Egypt's Give Back Tour (2012)Posted Friday, December 28, 2012 9:50pm
"Egypt's Give Back Tour” is a coat, and toy drive to benefit the Greater Atlanta area’s financially challenged residents. The 5-day tour is anchored by a daily 4-hour radio live broadcast on V103 Atlanta, originating from locations in North, South, East, West and Mid Atlanta.
While the holidays can be the most joyful times of the year, they can also be the most stressful times of the year as people are faced with the decision of want vs. need. Having recognized that one small act of consideration or selflessness can impact a life on a major level, the "Egypt’s Give Back Tour” was birthed in 2009.
Every year, listeners will be encouraged to donate new or clean, barely worn coats, blankets and unwrapped toys for all ages. In the past we have partnered with NY Cares, NJ Cares, Toys For Tots , and the Atlanta Mission Shelters.
I just want to take a moment and thank each of you very much for your contribution and support in making the first Atlanta "Give Back Tour" a success. We were successful in raising just under 2,000 coats and an enormous amount of toys over the course of the week. When we delivered the last batch of hygiene donations to "My Sisters House" Women and children's shelter, I had the pleasure of meeting some of the families we were able to help. Moments like that give me an overwhelming sense of fulfillment and I'm proud to be a part of a city that embodies the community.
